Semporna Island

Day 1, 22nd Aug 2009.
We are due to fly to Tawau as a transit to head for Semporna Island. Booking was done last November and the amount paid for 3 pax for airport tax RM45.00 and admin fees RM135.Moreover, payment for checked baggage was RM10.00, 2 pieces of hot dog and nasi lemak were RM38.00. Thereafter, the total amount summed up to RM228.00 for the whole of 5 days trip excluding other expenses in Semporna Island. Before checking- in, we had snack and tea in the food court 'Garden' at LCCT.
Various buses were found along our way to the food court. Very convenient for those who wish to transport themselves.
Moreover, we saw the time-table for the bus services to Seremban, Melaka and Ipoh too.
It was raining cats and dogs on the day we departed for Tawau.
Passengers including my family were using umbrellas to board the plane. Quite a mess to board a plane on rainy day, don't you agree with me?
Finally, our plane takes off for Tawau,Sabah.
Hence after the 3 hours flight, we landed in Tawau airport, Sabah.
We were the last few to claim our baggage. It looked rather empty as passengers had left for their destinations.
This will be our car,Kancil for the next 5 days. Rented for RM50.00 per day. Will be useful for our holiday trip. Hopefully it serves us well.
Tawau darken faster than Kuala Lumpur. It was only few minutes past six in the evening.
With the help of GPS, HB drove to Semporna Island from the airport. The distance is 100km, an hour drive in Kancil.
After the long journey, we reached 'Dragon Inn' and the sign Welcome us to walk along to the reception.
Upon turning left, we found another Welcome sign with an arrow pointing it's way to the reception nearby.
HB was checking in with the reception at 'Rumah Rehat Naga' aka Dragon Inn for a night. The rate was RM120.00 Actually it was quite pricey and therefore we decided to stay for a night only.

One twin and single bed found in our room.
With a small TV and air condition but the air cond was not cold enough.
Also, the bathroom is situated behind the wall which displayed the TV. Water pressure was low and water heater wasn't working properly. So, it was a total failure to stay in Dragon Inn with the kind of rate that we paid.
After settling down with checking in, we drove out to have our dinner at Restaurant Seafood.
PS had 'dry' fried beehoon and as for me, I ordered kueh teow 'wet' aka fried kueh teow in cantonese style.
HB's dinner was 'ko loh mee' aka mee in dark n soya sauce. The serving didn't have any seafood although Semporna Island is a fishing village. From early start at the menu, we discovered that eating seafood is quite costly here.
