Started off our journey at 8am, local time and soon we reached Jawa Tengah aka Centre of Jawa.
The driver pulled over and shown hubby the Chinese cemetery. There's a lot of Chinese residents in Yogyakarta from the look of the graves.
The driver stopped at the new tourist attraction area where the eruption of Mount Merapi occurred. The white Avanda car was the car rented during our trip.
Look at the height of the volcanic ashes covered almost to the roof top.
Piew-Sze and hubby were at the top of the ashes while I'm finding difficulty into getting up but soon was given a hand by hubby.
The river with high and thick volcanic ashes on both sides.
We were here on the soil to witness the eruption of Mount Mount.
This river was overflown to the roadside when the eruption occurred and caused massive blockage of traffic flow.
Don't play, play with what nature can do to us.
Everything were destroyed
What remained were only the volcanic ashes.
Nature washed down from the river that build the height and not by man made.
Passed through narrow road and rural area to get to Dieng Plateau.
Along the way, wide plantation were found too.
This is the mode of transport that the locals get to and back from work.
Finally, the destination of the day, Dieng Plateau.
No tourists were found except the locals.
I was freezing cold but hubby and Piew-Sze could stand the coldness of the breeze.
Piew-Sze took shot for hubby when I was trying to get out of the coldness fast as possible.
The whole area was called Candi Arjuna.Piew-Sze had explored the area by herself at the far distance.
The boiling hot volcano crater, still alive.
Very smoky with strong sulphur smell surrounding the whole area.
After each shot, I covered my nose but HB felt dizzy as he smell too much of sulphur.
The boiling water of the volcano crater.
We had walked a distance seeing the boiling point at the volcano crater further up behind us.
After seeing the volcano crater, we visited telaga warna aka colored well. A view from the top.
Way down again after the tiring climbed.
It was said that the well has three different colors from different angle.
Full of vegetables plantations.
Plenty of residents are found all over the crater too.
The volcanic soil fertilize the plantation well.
Another term as in Cameron Highland, Malaysia.
Cooling and peaceful living except the fear of eruption from the volcano.
The colorful chicks on sale outside the market.
A Buddhist temple side by side of the Mendut temple except no entrance fee was needed when entering the Buddhist temple.
This is the Mendut temple where Piew-Sze had climbed herself up so quickly.
Hoe Boon being the lone ranger.
Piew-Sze with her different type of pose.
Couldn't wait to see what's inside the temple.
A guard took the snap for us.
Stopped at the Mall for our dinner and later walked the 500metres back to hotel.
